JOB TITLE: Senior Forester

The WATERSHED TASK GROUP (WTG) is a non- profit organization established in 1997 in Bamenda, Cameroon and, have offices in Bamenda, Douala, Limbe and Yaounde. The organization’s primary focus is biodiversity conservation, sustainable natural resource management, climate finance, life cycle management, agricultural value chain development, impact assessments, and audits.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The senior forester will perform the following functions:
· Conduct biostatistical analysis to support ecological research and decision making.
· Manage and lead forest inventories.
· Design effective management plans for diverse ecosystems,
· Implement monitoring framework to track forest health and project outcomes.
· Develop and oversee project design from conception to execution.
· Conduct mapping of ecosystem structure and function and land cover land use classification using remote sensing.
JOB SPECIFICATION
The applicant:
· ?Must be perfectly bilingual (English & French)
· Have a master’s degree or ”Ingenieur de conception” ( five years at least) in forestry or related fields.
· Have proven experience in remote sensing, biostatistics, biodiversity inventorying, management planning, and monitoring.
· Posses strong project design and implementation experience.
· Have excellent communication, reporting skills, and teamwork.
